Belltower was founded by two high school best friends in 2016 as a way to pursue artistic careers as potters. What evolved has become so much more…

The reason we are called Belltower is simple. We want to be a meeting place and a landmark on this awesome skyline by supporting local artists and promoting the creative economy in Memphis.

Our half coffeeshop / half pottery studio space was designed to create community around our work while providing accessibility to our craft. Coffee has served as our way of bringing people in and building a supportive community that is everything to us.

We started in a 100 square foot storage unit filling 5 gallon drums of water up in our college showers, and currently in our space we operate a coffeehouse that serves a variety of food and drinks out of handmade mugs, bowls, and plates, we sell our own work as well as many local artists’ work, we produce wholesale orders of ceramics that range from 24 to 1000 pieces, run a ceramics co-working studio that has over 80 active members, and teach all kinds of classes that range from beginner students touching clay for the first time to experienced students looking to move towards professional work.
